If you’re out on the road by yourself, a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) can save your life in emergency situations. PLBs vary in capabilities and cost. The most expensive include text and call capabilities that remote search and rescue teams recommend. Text and call features require a separate service agreement to use, that adds cost to the unit. Each brand with these functions will have the service agreeement information on their websites.
